Yellow Man's Transformation
Yellow Man's biggest problem was exactly as his name entails-- he was completely yellow. My first step in fixing him up was to adjust the white balance of the image. This provided an immediate fix to the overall yellow tone of the image, and made him a lot easier to work with from there. Even after adjusting the white balance, Yellow Man's teeth were a bit discoloured, which I fixed by using the teeth whitening tool to fix his smile while still making it look natural. I also used this more subtly on the whites of his eyes. While I was working on his eyes, I also burned/darkened his pupils. At this point in the editing, he still had a lot of red in his cheeks and on his forehead, which I corrected by evening out his skin tone. My very last step was to pull up the image's highlighted a little bit, and the end result left Yellow Man looking a lot nicer and brighter, and notably less yellow.
Hat Man's Transformation
Although Hat Man's original image didn't have as drastic a tone issue as Yellow Man's did, it was still flawed. I started editing the photo by adjusting the white balance, and slightly pulling up its contrast and highlights. The rest of the work was on Hat Man himself. To even out his skin tone and minimise his acne scarring, I softened his skin and did some touch ups on especially red or problematic spots. Following this, I whitened his teeth and the whites of his eyes, darkened his eyelash line, and subtly made his jawline more defined. As a final touch, I decided to darken his hair and eyebrows, especially in places where it was really light. After all of these adjustments, Hat Man was a lot brighter and well-defined.
