Intro. To Animation: Messing Around
This animation was born from Mikaella and I messing around on animator before we had been taught how to use it. We experimented with layers, creating characters (like happy monster, as seen above), drawing backgrounds, and creating basic movements.
Learning to use Animator: Progression
These animations are a step-by-step progression. In each one, a new element/skill is added, as we were learning them.
1. Classic Tween
2. Motion Tween
3. Motion Tween (Curved Pathways)
4. Shape Tween

Using New Skills: Final Animation
For this assignment, we were given a few days to create an animation featuring a monster that we created during our demo lesson. This animation started off with the monster you see above, mike, (heavily inspired by the character from the movie Monsters Inc.), walking across the screen and burping. From there, his story expands as his identity as a superhero is revealed to the audience upon him hearing screams and an evil laugh. In scene two, he transforms into his alter ego, super mike, as triumphant hero music is played. Scene three shows super mike flying through the sky to this same music, while his cape flaps in the wind. Then we come to scene four, my personal favourite, because that is where all of the action happens. We begin with mike flying in from the corner of the screen, as his enemy whose laugh was heard in the first scene enters the stage. They then get into a fight, of which super mike comes out victorious. The final scene is just a still of super mike with the words "the end" written across the screen.
****Note: In scene one, our audio was accidently cut off. Mike is supposed to enter whistling****
This animation was made using lots of symbols of mine and Mikaella's creation from the library, backgrounds from vecteezy, and audio from freesound.org. The majority of the animation was done using classic tweens. Overall, I am very happy with the way this turned out. Given more time, I feel confident that I would have been able to explore the specifics of mike's story further, and make some adjustments, but I am happy with the result, all things considered.
